There’s so much that shapes who we are—where we’re from, the languages we speak, the values we hold, the people we love, the stories we carry. No two stories are the same. And that’s something truly beautiful.

Nominal began with that simple, powerful idea. As a Palestinian Muslim Arabic-speaking woman, I shared with my husband a deep appreciation for identity, pride, and self-love. We wanted to create something that could reflect the many layers of who we are—inside and out—but didn’t quite know how. We knew we couldn’t be alone in that feeling. So in January 2018, we took a leap.

It started with a Map Necklace, designed for wearing the place you call home. Then came a Letter Necklace, for the initial that starts your name or honors someone dear. And a Name Necklace, celebrating the meaning and history each name holds.

We called this new brand and mission Nominal—a home for anyone looking to express not only who they are, but who they aspire to be. Over time, our pieces grew to include affirmations like “patience,” “love,” and “trust.” These aren’t just jewelry; they’re personal reminders, tiny notes to self, encouraging you to become the very best version of you.

Inspired by the poetic depth of Arabic, many of our designs feature words and phrases that resonate far beyond language. And since the beginning, we’ve woven more cultures, more voices, and more stories into our collections—bringing together people from all over the world.

While we craft accessories meant to make you feel seen and stylish, we believe fashion should do more. That’s why, every month, we run our Deed of the Month campaign. A portion of every order supports a new cause—from providing meals to families in need, to funding clean water projects abroad. When you shop with us, you’re part of that impact.
